๐Ÿ–๐Ÿผ 5 Pattern Friday: Strictly Stripes

Every Friday we're doing a round up of some of our favorite knitting patterns surrounding a specific topic.

This week we've been talking all about stripes as part of our Summer of Color.

We've discussed helical stripes, self striping yarns, and more.

So today we've got 5 projects that use stripes in unique and interesting ways (and some traditional ways too).

Our favorite striped knitting patterns

These patterns represent a variety of knitting project types, as well as different stripe techniques.

No matter what your knitting preference or experience level, there should be something for you.

So without further ado here's our striped pattern picks!

Hyacinthus Armwarmers
by Jen Arnall-Culliford

These light, fingerless mittens are perfect for those days when the sun doesnโ€™t quite manage to take the chill off. Perfect for wearing indoors and out, they feature the clever helical stripe technique.

Simple Stripe Knit Blanket by Mary Maxim

This asymmetrical shawl plays with both color and texture. It does all kinds of interesting things as it's knit sideways using garter stitch and simple lace.

Mod Stripe Shawl
by Teresa Chorzepa

This modular style triangle shawl goes a bit crazy with its stripes.

The result is a bold geometric design that will be hard to keep your eyes off of.

Striped Scarf Two Ways
by Jo Torr

A striped scarf will always be fashionable: itโ€™s a timeless classic. But that doesnโ€™t mean it canโ€™t have a twist in its tailโ€”this one cleverly manages to have stripes across the scarf on one side, and along the length on the other!

Turn A Square
by Jared Flood

Featuring four โ€œcompass pointโ€ decrease lines, the crown visually bends circles into squares, giving this hat its playful namesake.

BONUS PICK!

Lace & Fade Boxy
by Joji Locatelli

Boxy sweaters are like a friend who loves us dearly: always makes us feel comfortable and beautiful.

In this version, delicate bands of lace alternate with bands of silky fabric that subtly change colors.

Pattern Pick

Wavy Stripes Socks by Jennifer Beaulieu

Stripes are so compelling to knit, it is hard to stop!

Thin stripes alternate with slightly thicker wavy stripes for visual interest, while the cuff, heels, and toes add a pop of color.

A small stripe at the beginning of the cuff completes the look.
