π» 7 Knitting Blogs That Will Level Up Your Skills
It's a bit surprising, but there are not that many websites geared toward deepening your understanding of knitting.
This blog began as an exchange between pen pals Ann Shayne and Kay Gardiner back in 2003.
But in 2016 they rebranded and shifted their focus to something of an online knitting magazine.
While the site now has a large print publishing focus and yarn store, they also have an incredibly useful How To section. It contains hundreds of posts from dozens of contributors, including regulars Patty Lyons and Kate Atherley.
I do a lot of research for The Yarnist and I often find myself on Susanna's site reading a super interesting article about something I hadn't thought about.
While she mostly releases beautiful patterns there, she also has a bunch of practical posts on how to be a better knitter, or answering nagging knitting questions.
There aren't a lot of knitwear designers that I follow online, but she's one of them.
This site is the collaboration between two Canadian designers; Alexa Ludeman and Emily Wessel. They met at while working at a yarn store and have been designing together since 2010.
While they primarily publish patterns, they have a great blog that offers a lot of variety. Not only do they post useful tutorials, but they also have lovely introspections on the knitting journey.
If you want a blog that's "about" being a knitter without the journaling type posts, this is a great resource.
