🇱🇻 What is a Latvian braid?

During one of our previous Colorwork Knitting Weekends, many people were blown away by the Latvian braid.

The technique is often found as a design detail on Latvian mittens and hats, but it can be applied to any project.

It uses a clever combination of twisting yarns to create a horizontal *braid* that looks like arrows pointing left or right (depending on how it's made).

Erika at Don't Be Such A Square does a great job of explaining how this delightful decoration can be added to your knitting.
